When you think of the story of Eve being created by God, what do you think of?

Maybe you think of her coming out of Adam’s rib. Maybe you think about Adam and Eve being naked and not being ashamed. Maybe you think a bit further into the story about the serpent tempting Eve, and the way she led her husband into sin.

But, let’s back it up a bit. Look at Genesis 2:21-22:

So the Lord God made the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man’s ribs and closed up the place with flesh. Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man.

So, I ask you:

Who was Eve’s first relationship with?

That’s right, Eve’s first relationship was with God.

And where was Adam when Eve was being created? Yep, he was fast asleep.

So, women. This applies to us today. Who do suppose God wants our first relationship to be with, the God who created us, or a man?

Of course the answer is, with Himself.

If a single woman would focus on her relationship with Him, she would be less apt to sleep with a man just so he wouldn’t leave her.  She would be less likely to put up with a man who is abusive toward her.  She would look elsewhere if a man strung her along, ‘playing the field’ for years, keeping her in reserve, just in case.

Daughters of God – do you feel that you need to accept this kind of treatment from any man?
