In my last blog, I referred to the sermon by Perry Noble from NewSpring church about how protective men are toward their daughters. Then, he went on to ask the men in the audience, “How do you think God feels about how you treat His daughter?”

He referred to Genesis 2:22, which tells us that the first woman, Eve, was the first being that was not created out of dust.

                                                           That’s right.

All the animals on the planet were created out of dirt. Adam was created out of dirt.

What was Eve created out of? Adam’s rib.

If a man thinks of his wife as a piece of his property that he acquires, what will he do? He will do with her what he does with every other new toy he ever gets. He will neglect her, abuse her, or at the very least, get tired of her and take her for granted.

But…

What if he views her as a precious gift of God?

He will not neglect her, he will not abuse her, he will cherish her.

In fact, he will treat her the way the apostle Paul tells him to treat her in Ephesians 5:25 – 26a:

Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy…

Husbands, how do you think God feels about the way you treat his daughter?
